Originally from Santa Cruz, California, Trevor Cheney was first exposed to modern furniture and design at an early age through his uncle’s successful Los Angeles architectural firm. After attending Seattle University to study business, Cheney began to re-connect with his passion for the arts. This passion led Cheney to Pasadena, CA to study product design at ArtCenter College of Design with an emphasis on furniture. Cheney’s design philosophy comes from observing and taking a particular interest in people and everyday life. He believes that design should allow for people to engage in a natural and familiar way, creating something simply beautiful as well as functional. Cheney focuses on experiencing objects and furniture that guides our behavior and elicits a natural response.
