Studio Joanna Laajisto is a Helsinki-based boutique design agency, founded in 2010. We work in the fields of commercial interiors such as hospitality, retail, and workplace design as well as product and concept design.
Joanna Laajisto, the founder of the Studio, is an interior architect and designer who has studied and made her career on the West Coast of the United States. Prior to moving back to her native country Finland, she worked in Los Angeles at an international architecture firm Gensler, designing large-scale commercial projects.
In addition to her BA degree in interior architecture, she is also a LEED accredited designer, making her an expert in environmental and energy-efficient design.
In September 2018 Joanna Laajisto was designated Interior Architect of the year by The Finnish Association of Interior Architects
In addition to designing custom furniture and fixtures for her interior projects, she also designs products and furniture for the consumer market. Bobo sofa and lounge chair for Hakola as well as a line of rugs for Finnish brand Roots were launched at Helsinki Design Week in September 2019. The latest addition is the Kaski lounge chair for Made by Choice released in December 2020.
