Eclipse Dining Table
Eclipse is a solid wood table. Its thick legs and imposing top give it a powerful silhouette. Though appearing almost monastic in its simplicity, Eclipse rewards close examination with a symphony of intricate details. Eclipse dinner table draws inspiration from Eduardo Chillida’s philosophical exploration of form and void, notably his 1990 sculpture Eulogy to the Horizon, an austere portico that exists as both boundary and invitation. Much like Eduardo Chillida’s work, Eclipse relies on voids and ellipses—a subtle choreography of presence and absence. The table’s structure traces an implied ellipse, a shape emerging through the interplay of wood, void, and shadow, evoking the celestial phenomenon from which the table takes its name. This “eclipse” is not a solid form but a suggestion, rendered visible only by the lines and expanses that surround it. Please do not expose solid wood products to excessive heat sources such as radiators or fireplaces. Any sudden change in temperature and/or humidity can cause natural cracks in the material.Designed in 2025.
