The Gubi 3D Lounge Chair is designed by Boris Berlin and Poul Christiansen of Komplot Design. The lounge Chair is an evolution of the Gubi 3D Chair which was the first furniture design to be based on the innovative technique of molding three-dimensional veneer. The 3D design gives the chair a comfortable seat and sense of lightness – with all edges pointing away from the user. Due to this groundbreaking technology, the thickness of the veneer is allowed to be reduced to half that normally used. Today, the chair design is exhibited at Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York and has won several prestigious design awards. Based on an innovative molding technique using three-dimensional veneer. The 3D design gives the chair comfort and a sense of lightness – with all edges pointing away from the user. The thickness of the veneer is reduced to half of that normally used due to the very strong 3D design.
