The Niemeyer armchair is named after the Brazilian Architect Oscar Niemeyer. The rounded lines of the armchair are influenced by the remarkable ‘Casa das Canoas’ designed by Niemeyer in 1951. The flat roof offers its flowing forms to the round velvet seat while the pillars share their black tone with the darkened oak legs. In detail, the armchair is focused on the roof indented front curve framing a large granite boulder. It is precisely that backward curved movement that we discover in the seams of the meticulously upholstered work that flows all around the arms of the armchair.
