Hermann Czech

Hermann Czech, born in November 10th, 1936 in Vienna, studied architecture at the Polytechnic Institute in Vienna and went to the Ernst Plischke Master School at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. From 1974 to 1980 he was assistant to Hans Hollein and Johannes Spalt at the Academy of Applied Arts in Vienna and from 1985 to 1986 was visiting professor at the same university. In 1988-1989 and 1993-1994 he was visiting professor at the Harvard University of Cambridge (USA), and in 2004-07 at the ETH of Zurich and in 2011-12 at the Academy of Fine Arts of Vienna. His architectural works comprise planning, buildings in the residential, scholastic and hotel areas, and smaller works and exhibition architecture. Czech is the author of numerous critical and theoretical publications on contemporary architecture.
