Simone Bonanni
Simone Bonanni was born in Pordenone, Italy, in August 1989. He graduated with Honours at Istituto Europeo di Design (Milan) in 2011 with a project awarded with Honourable Mention at the 23rd ADI Compasso D’oro Award (Targa Giovani).
In 2012, he left Milan and joined the Marcel Wanders team (Amsterdam, NL) where he worked as product designer and project leader for 3 years. Bonanni moved back to Italy in 2015, where he founded Simone Bonanni Studio (SBS) in Milan.
From 2015, he teaches Product Design and lecturing at Istituto Europeo di Design and IED Master in Milan.
Simone Bonanni Studio (SBS) is a design studio established in 2015 in Milan by designer Simone Bonanni.
SBS focuses both on product design and Limited Edition, while investigating the world of creativity and always looking for new trends and fresh perspectives to inject in its everyday work. SBS believes aesthetics should be a consequence of a deep understanding of the essence, context, function and meaning of a certain typology of objects and it should not only relate to a personal taste. These elements find innovative ways to coexist, and each project receives dedicated attention.
The studio strives to create a connection between their work and the user that is initially effective and subsequently tangible. SBS recognizes the communicative power of objects, viewing them as “emotional activators.” Rather than focusing solely on technical aspects, the studio now prioritizes evoking emotions through design. This shift allows SBS to emphasize the perceptual experience over physical attributes.
